The Widow Wager by Jess Michaels.

Crispin Flynn has sunk deeper and deeper into depravity since he watched his brother forced to live a life he wouldn't have chosen. He never imagined that his drinking and card playing would land him a wife.

Having been sold into one marriage, Gemma, shouldn't have been surprised to learn that her father had wagered her hand in marriage to a perfect stranger. Knowing that there would be even more gossip if they refuse to marry, Gemma and Crispin decide to make the most of it.

While their passion for each other burns hot, can they get over learn to trust the other to find an everlasting love?

After reading how out of control Crispin was in The Scoundrel's Lover, I wondered how Michaels would turn his life around. She did not disappoint with her newest addition to the Notorious Flynns series.

The first time that Gemma meets Crispin, he is still drunk from the night before. She knows his reputation and thinks that saying no to her father might be the better deal.  But Crispin shows little signs of the man that he could be, so Gemma tries her luck with him. I loved seeing the transformation of Crispin as he spends more and more time with Gemma. He didn't want to be married, but they have agreed to try and make the marriage work. He has seen that a forced marriage can work out for the better when his brother married Serafina.

The biggest hurdle Crispin has to get over is his own self-loathing. Gemma learns why he feels this way and does everything in her power to help him get over this. After Crispin and Gemma have been through so much, they appreciate each other all the more.

I've loved every one of Michael's books in the Notorious Flynn series and I can't wait for the next book to come out next month!
