What a Gentleman Wants by Caroline Linden

Hannah Preston, the widow of a vicar, finds herself nursing David back to health after a carriage accident. Through his convalescence, David has come to care for Hannah as a friend. So when he learns that she must move back into her father's home when the new vicar arrives, he offers her a marriage of convenience. Not wanting to move back into her childhood home, she takes him up on his offer. They are soon wed and headed to London. What Hannah hadn't expected was to be left alone once they arrived.

Marcus Reece, Duke of Exeter, has been pulling his twin brother, David, out of scrapes for years. But his latest fiasco has gotten Marcus wed to stranger. Marcus soon learns that David used his name on the marriage license when he married Hannah. Marcus is furious and is willing to pay off Hannah to go back home. But when Marcus's family descends on the family home, he asks Hannah to stay and play along with the impression they are one big happy family as to not disappoint his family.

Can this couple who entered into marriage against their will, make a real marriage out of this fiasco?

I really enjoyed this story. Hannah and Marcus are an unlikely duo, but once the charade starts, you can see the attraction that grows between them. It was enjoyable to see Marcus's well ordered life, get a wrench thrown into it with the arrival of Hannah and her daughter. He didn't have a clue as to what to do. But he soon learned that what he thought was a disaster, ended up being the best thing to happen in his life.

Hannah's daughter is also a hoot!! She added a little something extra that you don't normally get in a historical romance story.

I can't wait to read the rest of the series and see what happens to Marcus's brother and sister.
